About The Author
While raising my family of four sons and a daughter, I wrote letters to editors, essays, checks, and served on school and civic committees. Yet stories were always somewhere on the horizon. I typed my first published article on an ancient Underwood manual typewriter using erasable paper, sold it, and became hopelessly hooked on writing. I have received several literary prizes including one for Persimmon Bayou at Pacific Northwest Writers Association.
I have had many stories and articles published, and have moderated two writing workshop critique groups for over twenty years. My husband is supportive of my efforts and bought my first computer in 1985 and four new models since.
I was born in the south where my grandmother wrote newspaper columns for many years. Her articles inspired much of the background for Persimmon Bayou.
